We have to cite every bit of information in order to validate it. Research or academic writing is a bit different than other types, needs more precision, specialized structure and scientific angel. Keep your document in view as you cite: Mendeley Cite opens as a separate panel in Word alongside your document window, not over it, so your whole document remains visible as you find, select and insert references. Mendeley is a citation and reference management tool available for desktop, MS word, Mac, Linux and other platforms. Also, The Style dropdown box will not display a bibliographic style until you have inserted your first citation. So, as well as searching your Mendeley library and inserting individual or multiple references and bibliographies in just a few clicks, with Mendeley Cite you can: Cite without having Mendeley Desktop open or even installed, minimizing potential performance loss. Please note that you can only add citations from Mendeley Desktop, not Mendeley Web. Select your reference from the list, and click ‘Cite’ to have Mendeley insert the citation and take you back to your Word document. There will now be a temporary button in the top bar that says ‘Cite’. This button will open up your Mendeley Desktop, with one small difference. If you can’t remember the author or title of the article you’re looking for, or if you’d like to browse your library for more references, you can click ‘Go To Mendeley’ in the Citation pop-up. Select the article or book, and click ‘ok’ to automatically cite that text in Word.Type in the name of the author, part of the title, or the year of the citation and Mendeley will show you a list of matches from your library. Thus, I suppose you are unable to use Mendeley to cite interviews. Click ‘Insert or Edit Citation’ A new window will pop up Unfortunately, ‘Interview’ is not included in the types of references for Mendeley yet.But I found that Mendeley does not add the level of the degree. Point your cursor where you want to add the citation I am using Harvard style where citing a PhD thesis requires adding the level of the degree in the Reference list.
